The SCI is postponing the Stanford Redwood City events: April 11th – Cancer and Genetic Risk and
April 25th – Career Discovery for Students
The
Community Outreach & Engagement (COE) team seeks to provide
quality learning opportunities for the community that builds knowledge
and connection for our participants. We feel the current situation with
COVID-19 will disrupt this dynamic we foster in learning
environments. Most importantly, the SCI would like to ensure the utmost
well being of the communities we reach and serve.
We still need your involvement in the future! So keep COE and community
events in mind. If you have questions, please reach out to
Rachel Mesia and
Ellen DiNucci
Connecting With Your Community: All Staff Meeting “Passions & Joys” Sign Up
We want to hear from you about your passions and joys outside of work!
To learn more about all the talented people we work with at the CCTO, we created a new content addition to the All Staff Meeting. This was kicked off on January 31 by the admin team, who shared their passions and joys in philanthropy, art and birds. We want to get to know YOU too. Share your passions and joys outside of work by signing up for the next meeting and sharing something meaningful in your life!
Your contribution is as simple as 1, 2, 3:
- To sign up, email ccto-admin@stanford.edu with
“Passions and Joys” in the Subject Line
- The admin team will provide you the next all
staff meeting date and a PowerPoint slide template
- On the slide template, you’ll include:
- One word to describe a passion or joy that enriches your personal life
- One or two photos
- A short blurb on the slide (or in the presenter notes) briefly describing why/how this came to be in your life, and how it enriches your life
- On the slide template, you’ll include:
- The admin team will provide you the next all
staff meeting date and a PowerPoint slide template
- Email your completed slide to ccto-admin@stanford.edu by the designated due date, which will be provided
- Present your passion & joy slide at the all staff meeting!
That’s it! Let’s all take part in making new connections, shall we?
If you have any questions, please reach out to the admin team. Thank you!

Oncology Clinical Research Forum Postponed
Due to the evolving risk associated with the COVID-19 outbreak, the Oncology Clinical Research Forum scheduled for 22 May 2020 is postponed. A BIG thanks to the Forum Planning Committee and the CCTO Administrative Team who have invested a lot of time and effort in planning for this important annual program. Hopefully we will be able to schedule later in the year.
National Colorectal Awareness Month
Kudos to the GI CRG team, and thanks for all that you do to further cancer research at the SCI!
