800 Welch Cleaning Expectations and Procedures

March 22, 2022 - SCI Communications

Quarterly

  • Styrofoam and cool packs collection 
  • Unwanted binders
  • Surplus old/broken equipment (as needed)
  • Breakdown of expired/unused/unwanted kits

Annually (February)

  • Large-scale cleanup of expired & unused materials

Friendly Reminders:

  • Off-site storage pickups should be arranged in a timely manner to alleviate workspaces. The SOP for this procedure can be found in MedBox.
  • All plastic containers with NO sharps, liquids, pills or other biohazard materials (including bio labels) can be disposed of in regular recycling or garbage.
  • Anything marked with a Biohazard symbol CANNOT go into regular disposal bins   
  • Please separate sharps and biohazard materials from lab/medical kits
  • Tracking material’s expiration dates can ensure more donations rather than disposal. Donation guidelines can be seen here

Nana Poku

The CCTO welcomes Nana Poku, our new Project Manager with Pediatrics. Nana graduated from the University of Louisville with an MS in Public Health and a concentration in epidemiology. Prior to joining the CCTO, she was a project manager at UCSF with the Early Phase Investigational Therapeutics Department (Phase 1). Nana is looking forward to new opportunities in a place that she can grow and help build a wonderful team. Please help us welcome Nana!

IMPORTANT: OnCore System Upgrade

February 24, 2022 - SCI Communications

The OnCore system is being upgraded to a new version (2021R3) during the weekend of March 4th – March 6th.

As a result, OnCore and Tableau will be unavailable after 4pm on Friday March 4th 2022.

Both systems will be available again by start-of-business Monday, March 7th 2022.

Essentials of Clinical Research Course

January 5, 2022 - SCI Communications

This 10-session course introduces the basics of clinical research design, including biostatistics, design of diagnostic and predictive test studies, and required/desired elements of clinical trial protocols. Participants will also gain an understanding of the regulatory aspects of clinical research conduct and oversight, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and ethical dimensions of clinical research.

Open to faculty and staff. Certificate of completion awarded to those who attend a minimum of 8 of 10 sessions. Classes held on Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm beginning January 13 through March 17, 2021.
