Each year, the SCI Community Outreach & Engagement staff (Ellen and Rachel) organize activities in April to raise awareness about cancer clinical research. There will be some signature activities and new community events that we encourage the CCTO staff to get involved in:
1) Disseminate/wear “Ask Me about Clinical Trials” button: for CCTO staff, Cancer Center clinicians, and other appropriate Cancer Center staff. Check with Amanda Sullivan for supplies.
2) Give a gift to your study volunteer: “Hero for Research” pins for Stanford cancer clinical trial participants. Check with Amanda Sullivan for supplies.
3) Solicit and submit ‘Share Your Story’ for the SCI Website cancer.stanford.edu/trials/stories.html
4) General awareness poster display at Cancer Centers Palo Alto and South Bay
5) April 11th community event at Stanford Redwood City – Future of Cancer Cancer Talk: Cancer & Genetic Risk.
Let us know how you can get involved by completing volunteer form. Visit the event information web page.
6) April 25th community event at Stanford Redwood City – Career Discovery for Students: Cancer Clinical Research & Administration.
Let us know how you can get involved by completing volunteer form. Visit the event information web page.
If you have questions, please feel reach out to Rachel Mesia and Ellen DiNucci. Thank you for considering!
