To guard against fraud, don’t abbreviate 2020 on your checks and on official documents

January 9, 2020 - SCI Communications

When signing and dating legal documents, do not abbreviate 2020 as 20.  The problem rises that year 20 can be changed to any date from the last two decades. For example 03/01/20 could easily be changed to 03/01/2018, giving scammers a chance to defraud.
