The Breast Cancer team is excited to introduce Kathryn Bucknell to the CCTO as a CRC2. She is joining us from Kaiser Permanente and attended UCSD. Kathryn is excited to contribute in groundbreaking research at the CCTO. A self-professed “foodie,” Kathryn loves baking cinnamon banana bread muffins. She also enjoys various types of music and will be seeing Slipknot in concert. Kathryn is located at 800 Welch on the 3rd floor, stop by and say hi.

The Quality team is delighted to welcome Jennifer Ignacio (Jenn) in the role of Quality Monitor. Jenn has approximately 8 years of experience in clinical research. She brings with her valuable knowledge about monitoring trials as well as conducting trials as a CRC. In her prior role as a Quality Monitor at Sutter Health, she worked with a variety of research teams and investigators, focusing on eligibility reviews, protocol compliance, training, as well as external audit management. Data management, process improvement, and corrective action plans are other areas Jennifer was able to provide her expertise on. Please join us in welcoming Jenn to the Quality group!

May we please congratulate Alex Valencia on his recent promotion to a CRC2 position in Cutaneous Oncology? Alex has a MS in Cell and Molecular Biology and joined the CCTO straight from the lab. Within three months of starting at the CCTO, he found himself sitting in front of a FDA Officer, acting as scribe for an IND audit. He lived to tell the tale.
