Reminder Regarding Turnaround Times

June 27, 2019 - SCI Communications

No one likes to wait. Patient satisfaction is often connected with that truth. So pay attention to the turnaround times for patients with lab, return visits, and or ITA appointments on the same day when you are ordering labs:

  • All lab orders placed as STAT will be completed in the 60 minute window from sample received by lab to Resulted.
  • All lab orders placed as ROUTINE will be completed in a 4-hour window from sample received by lab to Resulted.
  • To improve care coordination and reduce patient wait time, please place orders as STAT when a patient has a same-day appointment, or when urgent lab review is needed, which will prioritize the labs to be resulted within the 60-minute window. This is also true for same-day infusion patients.
