Welcome to SCI Messages of the Month. Because we work in such a dynamic institution with many important priorities, the goal of this new communication is to ensure that our SCI and CCTO staff members have the most up-to-date information about new developments or changes. We also want to be sure that you, our valued employees who are critical to our success, are able to connect with the broader mission we have to better prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Thank you for the work that you do each and every day.
SCI Messages
The SCI is one of only 49 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the US. This comprehensive designation was obtained for the first time at Stanford in 2016, through competitive renewal of our Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). Comprehensive status contributes significantly to Stanford’s national reputation as a leading research institution and cancer care program. We recently received a 1 year extension so our next submission of the grant will be in May 2021. When we start writing the grant in early 2020 we may be asking staff to contribute information. We will be providing many more updates in the months ahead.
The SCI recently launched a LinkedIn page. If you’re a LinkedIn user, we encourage you to connect with us! We will be using the site to promote the SCI as a thought leader in cancer by posting cancer related content, and will also be using the site to help our employee recruitment efforts in the CCTO and SCI. https://www.linkedin.com/company/stanford-cancer
