In January, the FC163 monitor room at 800 Welch was changed over to a security badge entrance system from the former coded door entry. Since there wasn’t advance notice of the date that this was going to occur, the Administrative Team wasn’t able to communicate this change in advance to staff and realize it has caused some confusion and logistical issues. Going forward, the door to FC163 has been setup with the security office to auto unlock/lock between the hours of 7:30 AM-5:30 PM. If you realize you are not going to be able to take possession of your binders or materials from your monitor near that ending time, please communicate with your manager or team members to arrange for coverage to collect the materials. If needed, the following four staff have badge access to FC163 for the CCTO: Brenda Hann, Pei-Jen Chang, Amanda Sullivan and Christy Baker.
In general, please remember that study materials should not be left unattended and there should be a direct hand-off between you and your monitor. If a monitor is going on a meal break, binders should not be left unattended at the work spaces, but brought back to your own work space until they return to begin working on them again. At the end of the day, monitors should not leave study material for you to pick up later, but wait for you to arrive to take receipt of the items. Study materials should not be left in the monitor room overnight either in anticipation of or following a monitor’s visit. Thank you for doing your part to ensure the privacy and security of our study records.
