The admin team has been made aware of some items, both minor and more major, that have gone missing from the office lately. There have been several items that have gone missing from the refrigerator, both labeled and unlabeled. We have also had small treats go missing from people’s desk and at least 2 to 4 items that were more significant, both personally owned and department owned.
We ask that if you do notice something missing, please reach out to the admin team immediately to report it. We have reached out to Stanford Security requesting increased sweeps for our building and we’ve also alerted housekeeping management to discuss with their external members.
REMINDERS TO ALL STAFF
- Under no circumstances should items be “borrowed” from anyone else’s space without permission. If you need additional supplies, there are specified supply locations at each CCTO building. If you have questions, ask the admin team or your manager.
- Label and lock up any personal desk items at the end of each day. While we are addressing the issues above, it’s still good practice to lock up valuables whenever you are away from your desk for long periods of time.
- Only eat and drink what is yours. No matter how tempting another employee’s items may appear, it does not belong to you, so do not take it. Unless the person offers you some, do not touch it. If you crave it, add it to your shopping list and purchase some for yourself.
- Label your food. Write your name and expiration date in bold letters to make sure there is no doubt about who your food or drink belongs to and when it expires. Note: Refrigerator cleaners should only dispose of food/drink items that have expired per the date on the container, or if the item is actively smelling/molding.
Thank you for your continued help with following these guidelines. The admin team is here to answer any questions you may have. If you have additional concerns, please email ccto-admin@stanford.edu .
