Emergency # for SOM changing to 9-911

January 8, 2018 - SCI Communications

Up until recently staff in School of Medicine buildings had been instructed to dial 286 for any emergency needs. The EH&S Department has recently made changes and will be using that as a secondary line and phasing it out as a primary emergency number. Staff are now to call the standard 9 (for an outside line) and 911 in the event of an emergency whether they are in a SOM building or anywhere else on campus from a landline phone (cell phones just need to use 911). If you have a sticker on your desk phone or an older wallet or badge card listing the 286 emergency number, please take it off and discard it.
